Police found the body of a young man in a rice field in Hasuari village within the Asujia union of Kendua upazila in Netrokona early today. The deceased, identified as Md Maruf Hasan, 25, was the son of Hadis Mia from Hasuari village. According to reports from both the police and family members, Maruf had left home at around 7:00 pm yesterday but did not return. Shortly after 1:50 am today, several villagers returning from a fishing trip in a nearby river spotted a body in a ditch near a rice field. They promptly informed Sohail Mia, a member of the Union Parishad, who then contacted the Kendua Police Station.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, conducted an initial investigation, and recovered the body. Subsequently, the body was transferred to the morgue at Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Inspector Mihir Ranjan Dev, responsible for the investigation at Kendua Police Station, stated, “We have initiated an inquiry into the incident, and any further legal actions will be based on the family’s potential complaints.”
