Netflix has revealed a sneak peek of “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”, the latest installment in Rian Johnson’s popular detective series. Daniel Craig reprises his role as sleuth Benoit Blanc, this time tackling what he terms as “the impossible crime.”
The plot centers around the startling murder of a Catholic priest, portrayed by Josh Brolin, during a church service. Johnson’s screenplay promises a complex web of suspects, mysteries, and tension. Alongside Craig, a star-studded cast including Glenn Close, Cailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Josh O’Connor, Andrew Scott, and Brolin, adds weight to the film.
Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, the movie generated buzz for its intriguing plot and stellar performances. Glenn Close, part of the ensemble, expressed her excitement for the project, labeling it as “one of the best experiences of my life” during an earlier interview.
Craig showcases a fresh appearance for Blanc, sporting longer hair and a sleek three-piece suit — a departure from his previous looks in “Knives Out” (2019) and “Glass Onion” (2022).
“Wake Up Dead Man” will debut in selected cinemas on November 26 prior to its worldwide release on Netflix on December 12.
