The USS Fitzgerald (DDG-62), a United States Navy destroyer, has docked in Bangladesh for a three-day goodwill visit as reported by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). Upon its arrival, the Bangladesh Navy’s BNS Abu Ubaidah greeted the ship, and naval officers from both nations exchanged pleasantries.
The purpose of this visit is to enhance professional relationships by sharing knowledge, experience, and expertise. ISPR highlighted that collaborative activities and firsthand exposure to naval best practices will improve mutual understanding and coordination among naval personnel from both countries. Furthermore, the visit will facilitate knowledge transfer and support the Bangladesh Navy in adopting modern naval technologies.
The event also saw the participation of representatives from the US Embassy in Dhaka. The USS Fitzgerald is scheduled to depart Bangladeshi waters on October 10.
