Two separate incidents involving US Navy aircraft crashing into the South China Sea were reported on Sunday, with no fatalities confirmed, officials stated. The first crash occurred with a MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter during routine operations from the USS Nimitz, as per the US Navy’s Pacific Fleet. All three crew members were successfully rescued by search and rescue teams. Shortly after, a Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet also crashed into the South China Sea while conducting routine operations from the USS Nimitz. Both crew members ejected themselves from the aircraft and were safely recovered. The US Navy confirmed that all personnel involved are safe and in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of both incidents. These crashes coincided with US President Donald Trump’s visit to Asia during his second term and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s upcoming multi-country Asian tour. Earlier this year, two US warplanes fell off the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier while on duty in the Middle East.
