Another serious case against United Hospital has surfaced recently with the filing of a case at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrates Court (CMM), Dhaka, by the sister of deceased Bahrain captain Mohannad Yousef Hassan Al Hindi, who was working for Gulf Air.
On Wednesday, in response, the learned court accepted the case and ordered CID to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter. Gulf Air’s captain, Mohannad Yousef Hassan Al Hindi, was taken to United Hospital on December 14, 2022, after suffering a cardiac arrest at the Dhaka airport.
He was admitted there under Prof. Dr. Md. Omar Farooq, Chief Consultant of Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine of United Hospital Limited, and is also the accused in this case.
The victim was declared dead at 12:08 p.m. A death certificate and other reports substantiate this fact. After his death, the victim’s family obtained a urine sample report, which states that the urine sample was collected at 12:45 p.m. while the report was generated at 12:57 p.m. United Hospital conducted the test half an hour after the death of the patient.
This report has clearly raised some questions about the procedure followed by the hospital authorities and the death of the victim as well because Captain Mohannad Alhindi died before this sample was collected.
In this connection, Tala Elhendy Josephano, sister of the deceased captain, has today filed a complaint petition at the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrates, Dhaka, asking for the arrest of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Omar Farouk and those involved with this willful negligence.
Tala Elhendy Josephano, in her statement, said, How can someone do a urine test when the patient is already dead? Did Omar Farouk fiddle with the report, or did he fiddle with my brother’s dead body? This has to be investigated.
United Hospital has a poor system, but this system exists only to cheat JCI accreditations, insurance companies, and big contracts on the outside. On the inside, it’s a poor system that some of their criminal doctors don’t follow.
That’s why we have filed this complaint petition today so that the truth can be revealed. This is important for all the patients of Dhaka, especially the helpless ones who walk into this hospital and never walk out.
