Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is reportedly interested in playing a key role in overseeing postwar Gaza operations as part of a peace initiative crafted by the Trump administration, according to sources cited by the Financial Times. The proposed arrangement involves Blair potentially heading a supervisory body named the “Gaza International Transitional Authority.”
Although Reuters could not independently confirm the information, it was noted that Blair was present at a meeting in late August organized by President Trump to address issues related to Israel’s conflict in Gaza and the subsequent reconstruction plans for the region. The Tony Blair Institute was mentioned in a report from July that detailed its involvement in a project aimed at formulating a comprehensive strategy for post-war Gaza.
The think-tank clarified that its discussions regarding the reconstruction of Gaza did not involve any talks related to the forced relocation of residents from the area.
