BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has unofficially won the election in the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency with a significant lead over his main competitor. The results, released by the District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md Taufiqur Rahman, include data from 150 out of 151 polling centers, incorporating postal votes.
Initial reports reveal that Tarique Rahman, running with the sheaf of paddy emblem, garnered 216,284 votes while his primary opponent, Abidur Rahman Sohel from Jamaat-e-Islami, running with the scales symbol, received 97,626 votes. This victory gives the BNP candidate a substantial lead of 118,658 votes over his closest rival.
Officials have clarified that this announcement is based on the information collected from the counting stations, awaiting the final publication in the gazette.
