Sri Lanka suffered another setback in their Twenty20 World Cup journey as Matheesha Pathirana was forced out of the tournament due to a left leg muscle strain. Dilshan Madushanka has been named as his replacement. Pathirana, aged 23, had to leave the game against Australia in Pallekele after collapsing with the injury during his first over. Known for his effectiveness in the final overs, Pathirana couldn’t continue as Sri Lanka secured a comfortable win. This injury comes after the earlier loss of Wanindu Hasaranga, who had to withdraw due to a hamstring injury in the match against Ireland. Sri Lanka is set to face Zimbabwe in their last Group B match before entering the Super Eight stage against England.
