Singer Doly Shaontoni is embracing the current trend of revitalizing classic songs with modern musical interpretations. The music industry has seen a surge in revamped timeless favorites, often featured in movies blending old melodies with fresh compositions. Dolly is gearing up to reintroduce a selection of her iconic songs with updated arrangements.
Despite previous offers from production companies to remake her old hits, the artist had hesitated in the past. However, the resounding success of her timeless track “Lichur Bagane,” featured in Shakib Khan’s film “Tandob” during Eid-ul-Azha, has prompted a change in her stance. She is now enthusiastic about infusing new vitality into her cherished tunes.
Reflecting on the evolution of her decision, Dolly shared, “I had been approached by several companies earlier. Initially, I had reservations about whether modern renditions could capture the essence of the original versions that hold a special place in fans’ hearts. However, witnessing the positive reception of remakes by others inspired me. ‘Lichur Bagane’ was recorded two decades back. Producers requested a re-singing, which I declined. Subsequently, Pritom’s rendition created a nationwide sensation.”
Having spent almost a year in Canada, Doly Shaontoni is set to embark on recording a fresh rendition of her popular track “Hey Jubok” next week. She revealed, “Last Friday (November 14), a producer from Bangladesh contacted me. The rearranged version of ‘Hey Jubok’ is ready, and he has invited me to record it again. This time, I have embraced the opportunity. I am jumping on the bandwagon and will commence recording the track next week. Subsequently, I intend to progressively re-record other beloved songs that have garnered immense adoration over the years.”
