Director and actor Saraf Ahmed Zibon, known for his comedic roles, achieved a new milestone in his career by winning the Best Supporting Actor (Male) award in the Popular Category at the Blender’s Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2024. Zibon received the recognition for his performance in Kajal Arefin Ome’s web-film “Osomoy.”
Renowned for his clever humor, Zibon delivered a light-hearted acceptance speech that charmed the audience. He humorously recalled a memorable incident from the teaser of his directorial debut “Chokkor 302,” where Mosharraf Karim jokingly remarked that Zibon couldn’t act.
“I really have no clue about acting. These words are not mine but Mosharraf Karim’s,” Zibon chuckled, further stating, “Yet somehow, the audience continues to watch and appreciate my work, which, once again, are his words, not mine.”
Zibon also expressed gratitude towards his co-star and fellow nominee Iresh Zaker, highlighting the beloved comic chemistry they shared in “Osomoy.” “I dedicate this award to Iresh Zaker and Kajal Arefin Ome,” he mentioned.
The actor rose to fame through Ome’s popular series “Bachelor Point” and also appeared in “Female 4” and “Hotel Relax.” His directorial debut film, “Chokkor 302,” premiered during Eid-ul-Fitr this year, featuring Mosharraf Karim in the lead role alongside Reekita Nondine Shimu, Tareen Jahan, Moushumi Nag, Intekhab Dinar, Rawnak Hasan, and Sumon Anowar.
