Professor Dismissed for Sexual Misconduct at Pust

-

A male assistant professor at Pabna University of Science and Technology (Pust) has been terminated from his position for engaging in sexual misconduct towards a female student. Subrata Kumar Biswas, the accused faculty member from the social work department, was dismissed during the 73rd board meeting held on July 26, 2025, in accordance with the university’s anti-sexual harassment policy established in 2008. The official termination notice was issued by Pust Registrar Bijon Kumar Brahma on September 23.

The incident came to light when the female student reported the misconduct to the university administration, leading to the formation of an investigative committee. Upon conducting a thorough inquiry, the committee verified the allegations and subsequently presented its findings to the board for review.
