Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has urged all political parties to ensure their leaders and members refrain from engaging in disorder, violence, or voter intimidation during the upcoming election. In a televised address to the nation, he emphasized that any attempts to disrupt voting or spread misinformation, especially on social media platforms, will not be tolerated by the state.
Prof Yunus underscored the interim government’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful and credible electoral environment and called on political entities to exhibit responsibility and restraint. He dismissed claims that the interim government would cling to power after the polls, dubbing such assertions as baseless propaganda.
Emphasizing the importance of a secure and calm voting atmosphere, Prof Yunus highlighted the collective responsibility to uphold order during the election. He described the upcoming election as a pivotal moment for the nation, shaping the future trajectory of Bangladesh and democracy itself.
