“Prince William Vows Modern Monarchy in Candid Interview”

-

Prince William expressed his commitment to reform the monarchy when he ascends the throne, emphasizing his vision as “change for good.” During a candid discussion with actor Eugene Levy on the Apple TV+ show “The Reluctant Traveller,” the Prince of Wales disclosed his desire to modernize certain aspects of royal customs while upholding the enduring values.

“I am focused on implementing change,” he stated. “Not radical shifts, but necessary adjustments that I believe are required. I welcome change rather than shying away from it.”

Acknowledging the weight of familial history, the prince emphasized the importance of living in the present rather than being burdened by the past. While emphasizing the significance of tradition, William highlighted his willingness to question the relevance of certain practices. “Are we maximizing our impact as much as we could? That is the question I like to explore.”

Arriving on an electric scooter, the prince shared light moments with the “Schitt’s Creek” actor, revealing his admiration for the “American Pie” films featuring Levy. The duo explored Windsor Castle’s grounds, accompanied by William’s pet dog, Orla, and concluded their visit at a nearby pub, enjoying a pint—Guinness for Levy and sweet cider for William.

Delving into personal matters, the Prince openly discussed the challenges of family life, particularly dealing with the illnesses of his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and his father, King Charles III. “Family issues can be overwhelming at times,” he admitted. “We strive to provide our children with the security and support they require. While we are an open family, the ripple effects are unpredictable.”

Reflecting on his own upbringing under intense media scrutiny, William expressed his determination to shield his children from similar pressures. “I am committed to avoiding a return to the experiences Harry and I encountered growing up. I will do everything in my power to prevent regression.”

Although the interview did not touch on his relationship with Prince Harry, William expressed pride in his family’s resilience. “I am immensely proud of my wife and father for their resilience last year. My children have also demonstrated remarkable strength.”

Levy later remarked on William’s honesty during the conversation, describing it as a genuine exchange rather than a sensational revelation. As the day drew to a close, the Prince looked ahead, emphasizing the importance of overcoming challenges in shaping their identity. “Building a world that my son can be proud of is my ultimate goal.”
