The Palestine Solidarity Committee in Bangladesh strongly criticized the interim government’s inclination towards joining the proposed International Stabilization Force for Gaza. The organization expressed serious apprehensions and called for an immediate reversal of this decision.
Prof Md Harun-or-Rashid, the member secretary of the Palestine Solidarity Committee in Bangladesh, highlighted that the primary role of the Stabilization Force would involve disarming the Gaza freedom fighters, purportedly to ensure Israel’s security, ultimately aiming to eradicate the Palestinian resistance movement.
The statement pointed out that during National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman’s current visit to the US, he conveyed Bangladesh’s interest in participating in the International Stabilization Force for Gaza during meetings with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Allison Hooker, and Assistant Secretary of State, Paul Kapur, in Washington, as per the chief adviser’s press wing.
Emphasizing Bangladesh’s historical support for the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people, the statement underscored the nation’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
