“Over One Million Tickets Sold for 2026 World Cup”

-

FIFA announced that over one million tickets have been sold for the 2026 World Cup after the Visa V.N pre-sales phase ended. Fans from 212 countries and territories participated in the pre-sales, which started in mid-September, according to FIFA.

The highest demand came from residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the three host nations, with England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France following suit.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed excitement about surpassing the one-million-ticket milestone, calling it a significant achievement on the journey to the 2026 World Cup. This tournament will be the most extensive and inclusive ever, generating immense global interest.

So far, 28 teams have qualified for the event, which will introduce a format of 48 nations playing 104 matches in 16 cities across the host countries.

The upcoming phase on October 27 will offer public sales for individual match tickets, as well as stadium-specific and team-specific packages, as per FIFA’s announcement.

Additionally, an official ticket resale platform has been introduced to prevent fans from buying invalid or unauthorized resales.

The 2026 World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is the first time three nations will jointly organize the prestigious tournament.
