Hulu has officially announced the renewal of the popular mystery-comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” for a sixth season. Excitingly, the upcoming season will take the beloved trio of amateur detectives to London, marking a departure from the show’s usual New York backdrop. The renewal news coincided with the Season 5 finale release.
The acclaimed series centers around Charles-Haden Savage (portrayed by Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (played by Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (depicted by Selena Gomez) – three unconventional friends and hosts of a true-crime podcast who delve into enigmatic murders connected to their residence at the Arconia on the Upper West Side.
In Season 5, the trio found themselves embroiled in a perilous investigation following the mysterious death of their doorman, Lester (acted by Teddy Coluca). Their pursuit led them through the underbelly of New York City, intertwining them with affluent individuals, traditional mob figures, and secretive Arconia inhabitants, uncovering a clash between the city’s history and its current risky landscape.
Aside from the main cast members, the fifth season of “Only Murders in the Building” boasted a stellar supporting ensemble including Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, Jermaine Fowler, and Michael Cyril Creighton.
