“Neighboring Nation Accused of Meddling in Bangladesh Election”

-

A neighboring nation is reportedly trying to manipulate the electoral process and is involved in plots related to Bangladesh’s upcoming national election, as stated by National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam on the previous day. Speaking at a pre-election gathering organized by the Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance in Keraniganj, the capital, Nahid Islam pointed out that the neighboring country is openly supporting a specific political party by opposing the 11-party alliance.

The imminent election is seen as crucial in determining the future direction of Bangladesh, whether the country will be dominated by hegemonic influences once more or will stand firm with integrity. Nahid Islam emphasized that if any neighboring country tries to meddle in the electoral process, the people of Bangladesh will react independently. Such interference is against the sovereignty and democratic values of the nation.

The aim of the anti-fascist movement is to establish a just state that safeguards people’s rights and ensures accountability in governance. Nahid Islam highlighted that the upcoming election is not an abrupt event but a continuation of the July uprising, which laid the groundwork for a democratic electoral system. He mentioned that if the 11-party alliance assumes power, seeking justice for the July tragedy and the assassination of Sharif Osman Bin Hadi would be a key focus of the government.

Meanwhile, addressing the “March for Daripalla” event organized by the Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance at Rahim Uddin Degree College in Adamdighi, Bogura, NCP Spokesman Asif Mahmud cautioned that if the BNP attempts to reinstate the Awami League, it would repeat past mistakes and expose Bangladesh to vulnerabilities. Asif Mahmud highlighted the historical suffering of the people due to the decision to reintegrate Sheikh Hasina into politics, leading to the establishment of BAKSAL and restrictions on citizens’ rights. Allowing the Awami League back into politics would be akin to enabling fascism, he warned.
