“NCC Bank and DYD Partner to Empower Youth Entrepreneurs”

NCC Bank PLC has recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Youth Development (DYD) to empower the nation’s youth and foster sustainable economic progress. Through this partnership, NCC Bank will offer SME loan opportunities in key sectors to young entrepreneurs who have received training from DYD. This initiative aims to enable the trained youth to establish self-sufficiency and contribute to the economic advancement of the country.

The signing ceremony, which took place at the DYD’s headquarters in Motijheel, Dhaka, was attended by Gazi Md Saifuzzaman, the Director General (grade-1) of the Department of Youth Development, and M Shamsul Arefin, the Managing Director of NCC Bank PLC, as per an official press release.

During the event, Saifuzzaman expressed the commitment of the Department of Youth Development to empowering youth nationwide, highlighting that the department provides training to approximately three hundred thousand young individuals annually. He extended gratitude to NCC Bank for collaborating to address unemployment challenges by supporting educated and skilled young entrepreneurs.

Arefin emphasized NCC Bank’s objective of ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the progress of potential young entrepreneurs. As a responsible financial institution, NCC Bank has consistently promoted self-sufficiency initiatives for sustainable development. He stated that the partnership between the two organizations is anticipated to empower thousands of young entrepreneurs, creating employment opportunities and significantly contributing to the nation’s economy.

Arefin further outlined that the MoU signifies a long-term commitment between the two entities to nurture successful entrepreneurs for a self-reliant generation, which will play a pivotal role in the holistic advancement of the country.

The event was also graced by the presence of MA Akher, the Joint Secretary and Director (Administration) of DYD; Priyasindhu Talukder, the Joint Secretary and Director (Seed Financing); AKM Mofizul Islam, the Director (Training); Md Habibur Rahman, the Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank; Sharif Mohammad Mahsin, the Senior Vice President and Head of SME; Shahin Akter Nuha, the Senior Vice President and Head of Transaction Banking and Cash Management Division; and Md Anisur Rahman Majumder, the Vice President and Head of the Financial Inclusion Cell, among others.
