A tragic incident unfolded in Cumilla’s Adarsha Sadar upazila today as a mother and her son were fatally stabbed to death. The heartbreaking event occurred at approximately 6:30 am in Basantapur village of Pachthubi union within the upazila. The victims have been identified as Rahela Begum, aged 62, and her son Kamal Hossain, aged 40.
According to Sharif Ibne Alam, the investigation officer of Kotwali Model Police Station, relatives of the deceased revealed that Bilal Hossain, Rahela’s elder son, allegedly committed the heinous act of stabbing his mother and brother due to a land dispute. In response to the incident, a police team has been dispatched to the location, and the bodies are scheduled for autopsy.
As of now, no formal complaint has been lodged, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
