Popular actress Mehazabien Chowdhury, known for her role in “Priyo Maloti” last year, is making a comeback on the big screen with Maksud Hossain’s upcoming film, “Saba.” The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 26, coinciding with the Durga festival.

“Saba” narrates the tale of a young woman hailing from a middle-class urban family. Following her father’s demise, she takes on the responsibility of caring for her mother, Shirin, who has been confined to a wheelchair after a tragic accident. Struggling with financial constraints, Saba sacrifices her own aspirations to provide for her ailing mother. However, a sudden heart attack strikes Shirin, necessitating urgent surgery, leaving Saba in a state of distress and urgency to save her mother.

Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September last year, “Saba” has garnered recognition at various esteemed international film festivals such as Busan, Red Sea, Gothenburg, Sydney, and Raindance. Apart from Mehazabien, the film boasts Mostafa Monwar and Rokeya Prachy in significant roles.
