The interim government’s Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, announced that legal measures would be taken against any Awami League members who contravene the ban and follow directives from former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Alam made this statement in response to inquiries from a journalist regarding Hasina’s recent comments made in India.
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 is scheduled to announce the verdict in the crimes against humanity case involving Hasina and two of her key associates on November 13.
Alam labeled Hasina as the “butcher of Bengal” and emphasized that her actions and instructions from India are closely monitored. He mentioned that law enforcement agencies have been given clear instructions due to the ban on Awami League activities.
Pointing out that Hasina has been addressing various issues via social media, including labeling participants of the July uprising as terrorists, the press secretary highlighted that actions are being observed. He stated that following the verdict against Hasina, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may address the matter with India.
