“Kremlin Denies Trilateral Talks Amid Diplomatic Efforts”

-

The Kremlin refuted reports of potential three-way discussions between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, as diplomats convened in Miami to discuss resolving the conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had mentioned that Washington had proposed the trilateral format, which would mark the first direct talks between Moscow and Kyiv in six months. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov stated that the initiative had not been seriously considered or planned. Zelensky suggested that European representatives could participate in the talks, emphasizing the importance of such a joint meeting. Despite this, he expressed doubts about the potential outcomes and called for increased US pressure on Russia to cease the conflict. Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev joined the negotiations in Miami alongside Ukrainian and European delegations, with mediation from US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
