Jamaat-e-Islami Leader Calls for Fair Elections

-

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Leader Shafiqur Rahman made a firm declaration today that future elections must be conducted fairly and without any underhanded tactics. Addressing a gathering at Katiadi College ground in Kishoreganj this morning, he emphasized that Jamaat would only acknowledge and congratulate candidates who win through transparent electoral processes.

In his role as the chief guest, Shafiqur urged the youth to safeguard the integrity of the voting system and called upon the authorities to execute their duties with impartiality. He asserted that attempts to manipulate votes would be futile and stressed the importance of the administration acting with integrity, honesty, and bravery.

Highlighting Jamaat’s independence from influence, Shafiqur cautioned that the party would not remain passive if its interests were threatened. He urged party members and supporters to stay vigilant to prevent any interference by individuals attempting to manipulate the election, influence voters with illicit funds, or deceive the public.

Encouraging people to vote affirmatively in the upcoming referendum, Shafiqur asserted that it would pave the way for a Bangladesh free of discrimination, fascism, and corruption. He also assured that if Jamaat came into power, corruption would not be tolerated, and the practice of trading legal cases would be eradicated.

Regarding foreign relations, the leader emphasized maintaining friendly ties with other nations while standing firm against foreign dominance. Shafiqur emphasized that job opportunities would be granted based on merit, and measures would be taken to ensure the safety of women in their homes, on the streets, and in workplaces.

During the rally, Shafiqur distributed election symbols to candidates from the 11-party alliance, which includes Jamaat, competing in six parliamentary constituencies in Kishoreganj.
