“Interim Government Seeks Consensus on July Charter Issues”

-

The interim government’s advisory council has requested a consensus from political parties regarding the contentious issues related to the July Charter and the upcoming referendum. The decision was taken during an urgent meeting held today at the Chief Adviser’s Office, according to Law Affairs Adviser Prof Asif Nazrul who spoke at a press briefing post the meeting. Asif Nazrul mentioned that they are aiming for a unified stance on the referendum schedule, its content, and the sequence for enacting the July Charter, ideally within a week. He emphasized that the interim government’s future actions will be guided by the joint stance of political parties in favor of the July Charter. In case of a lack of consensus among political parties, the government will proceed independently, as highlighted by Asif Nazrul. The adviser reiterated the government’s dedication to conducting national elections in early February.
