Inside eye-opening life of YouTube star Raven the Acid Bath Princess of Darkness

-

Raven, the Acid Bath Princess of Darkness became an internet sensation 16 years ago – and many have been wondering what she’s been up to since.

Raven, the Acid Bath Princess of Darkness brought in 2009 with her friendTara, by sharing her thoughts on New Year’s Eve.

In the viral YouTube video, which has been viewed more than 2 million times and re-shared across the internet for over a decade, the emo duo list off their likes and dislikes. But in an updated video, Raven, who is actually called Sarah, shared the little-known secrets behind the video – saying it was created as a joke.

Sarah, who was 19-years-old when recording the 2009 clip, says she has spent much of her adult life denying the video as she was scared of being doxed. For this reason, she and Tara, who is actually her sister, agreed to keep their identities and involvement in the video a secret to protect their personal and private lives.

This was especially important for Sarah who works as a dominatrix and shares videos on OnlyFans and AVNStars. Sarah, who uses the work persona Petra Hunter, has published two book series called The Sissy Kit and Live To Obey.

Her Amazon author bio reads: “Petra Hunter is a professional Dominatrix based in Dallas, TX. She dominates eager men and women in person at her private dungeon, films FemDom and fetish clips, and plays remotely with playthings all over the world via phone calls and texting.

“She owns a sissy-themed business, The Sissy Kit, and self-publishes FemDom erotica and humiliation assignments. She loves mockumentaries, making friends with stray cats, and a tightly-laced corset.” Explaining how she created the characters, she said: “Tara and Raven were a loving, loving parody of who I used to be.

“YouTube was really new at the time and I wanted a career related to comedy. I had recently discovered 4chan and so I had started to become familiar with trolling. As someone who was formerly a very cringey emo/mall goth type of person, I knew that I could troll these people by playing a much elevated version of my former self.”

In the viral video, Raven says in an exasperated tone: “Hey. Sup. I’m Raven, your acid bath princess of the darkness. We’re sitting here in Tara’s room rocking out to MCR and celebrating 2009 or New Year. We don’t really understand why people are making such a big deal about it because really one more year is one more year that everybody is closer to death. Whatever. Suit yourself, humanity.”

The girls go on to share a list of their dislikes, stating they don’t like “preps, jocks, haters and Davey Havok’s new hair”. However, the duo “love being goth” as well as the movie series Twilight and its main character Edward Cullen.

They love how their shopping centre opened a New Topic store so their “relatives can buy them giftcards”, and say rock bands AFI and My Chemical Romance “saved their lives”. Finally, before ending their video, they thanked their YouTube followers for supporting them.

Commenting on the YouTube video, one viewer said: “This video is a masterpiece, that’s the only way to describe it.” Another added: “I’ll never get over how raven had this whole title and Tara was just Tara.” A third user said: “This is such a precious piece of world history from the year AD 2009.” A Facebook user said: “Where are they now? I need to know. Raven the Acid Bath Princess of Darkness. If anyone knows I need an update video. Been following this since the beginning.”
