The Border Security Force (BSF) of India officially transferred 15 Bangladeshi individuals to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) during a flag meeting at the Raghunathpur border in Jashor’s Benapole last night. The handover occurred at approximately 11:00 pm after a flag meeting between the Raghunathpur BGB Border Outpost (BOP) and India’s Petrapole BSF camp.
The meeting was overseen by Mizanur Rahman, the camp commander of BGB’s Raghunathpur BOP, and AC Praveen Chand, the camp commander of the Petrapole BSF camp. The transfer was conducted smoothly as the BSF handed over the Bangladeshi nationals, along with necessary documentation, to the BGB.
According to BGB official Mizanur, a total of 15 Bangladeshi citizens, including women and children, were repatriated. The individuals were confirmed as Bangladeshi citizens after verification of their national identity cards, birth certificates, and other relevant paperwork. Upon initial questioning, they disclosed that they had been working in various households in Kolkata for the past four years, having entered India illegally through the Satkhira border on different occasions.
After completing the required legal procedures, the Raghunathpur BOP authorities transferred the individuals to the Benapole Port Police Station for further processing.
