India’s opening batsman, Ashishek Sharma, is not feeling pressure despite failing to score in the ongoing T20 World Cup. According to a team coach, Sharma maintains a clear plan and mindset. The defending champions, India, have triumphed in all three matches in Group A. With their spot in the Super Eights secured, they are set to take on the Netherlands in their final group stage match in Ahmedabad.
Sharma’s form, usually known for his explosive batting, has come under scrutiny. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak emphasized the importance of not over-analyzing the situation and sticking to Sharma’s game plan. Despite missing a match due to illness, Sharma has faced minimal deliveries in the tournament, getting out early in both previous innings.
Kotak highlighted the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket and expressed confidence in Sharma’s abilities. He noted that focusing on such outcomes would only add unnecessary pressure on the players. Kotak reiterated the significance of each game for maintaining momentum, emphasizing that there are no inconsequential matches for Team India.
