Bangladesh had extended an invitation to India to send election observers, but India opted not to deploy them. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, mentioned during a recent press conference in New Delhi that although they received the invitation, Indian observers were not dispatched to Bangladesh for monitoring the elections. The national polls and referendum were observed by around 400 international observers and 200 foreign journalists on the specified day. When asked about India’s position regarding the elections in Bangladesh, Jaiswal emphasized that it was a matter of a short period. He urged for patience, stating that a proper assessment and understanding would be made once the election results are unveiled.
