“Iconic Singers Sabina Yasmin and Moushumi Bhowmik to Perform Together in London”

-

Two revered female singers from the Indian subcontinent, Sabina Yasmin from Bangladesh and Moushumi Bhowmik from West Bengal, will grace the same stage in London later this month. The duo is scheduled to perform on October 19 at a special musical segment during the London Bangla Book Fair and Cultural Festival at the Mayfair Venue in Romford, East London. This event, now in its 16th year, is organized by Udichi’s UK chapter in partnership with various local cultural groups.

The festival, which spans an entire day, will kick off with book launches, poetry readings, and children’s performances from noon until 5:30 pm. Following these daytime activities, the much-anticipated concert will take place from 6:30 pm to 10 pm. Yasmin will enchant the audience with her popular melodies, backed by talented musicians from both Bangladesh and the UK. Joining her from Dhaka will be Chandan Dutta and Monowar Hossain Tutul. Bhowmik, known for her soulful tunes and poetic lyrics, will also showcase some of her distinctive songs.

Expressing her excitement before departing for London, Yasmin remarked, “Performing abroad gives me a sense of representing Bangladesh on a global stage. The heartfelt singing and love for our music by the audience fill me with immense pride. I will endeavor, as always, to captivate the hearts of our brothers and sisters overseas.” Sabina Yasmin is set to leave Dhaka for London today and is scheduled to return on October 25 following the performance.

Organizers emphasize that the festival aims to celebrate Bangla literature, music, and culture transcending geographical boundaries, with this year’s concert expected to be a standout evening in the festival’s history.
