“German Police to Counter Russian Drones with Advanced Tech”

-

German federal police will soon have the capability to neutralize unmanned aerial vehicles, announced Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt on Wednesday. This decision comes in response to a series of drone sightings suspected to be part of Russian espionage and intimidation efforts. Revealing a proposed law, Dobrindt stated that the police would be empowered to employ advanced technologies to counter drone threats, including electromagnetic pulses, jamming, GPS disruption, and physical interventions.

“The interception and destruction of drones will be formally regulated and feasible for the Federal Police moving forward,” Dobrindt emphasized. He noted that Germany was leveraging the expertise of its allies such as Israel and Ukraine to enhance its defense against modern UAVs. Additionally, a collaborative drone defense center will be established for both state and federal police to coordinate efforts, generate intelligence reports, and implement unified strategies to mitigate drone-related risks.
