“Former Ward-12 Council Member of DNCC Dies at DMCH”

-

A former council member from ward-12 of DNCC, who was serving time at Kashimpur High Security Central Jail, passed away at DMCH yesterday. The deceased, identified as Murad Hasan, aged 65, was known as a local leader of the Awami League.

According to Inspector Md Farouk, who heads the DMCH police outpost, the inmate was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state around 4:30 pm. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Abdullah Al Mamun, the senior jail superintendent in Gazipur, mentioned that the prisoner had been experiencing health issues, particularly acute respiratory problems, since morning. Following this, he was promptly taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. Due to his worsening condition, he was later referred to DMCH.

Murad had been taken into custody in April of this year and was facing allegations in multiple cases, including one related to a fatality during the July unrest.
