In the realm of architecture education, the fundamental belief is that a city’s safety is truly measured by its inclusivity and protection of women, children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Despite being the capital, Dhaka is often considered unsafe. Nevertheless, many continue to call this city home, holding a deep affection for it. A unique perspective on Dhaka’s beauty was recently unveiled through the eyes of female artists.
On October 3, 2025, Bhumi Gallery in Lalmatia, Block D, introduced a group art exhibition titled “Her and the City,” showcasing the works of nine female artists with diverse academic backgrounds. Dr. Farida Zaman, an esteemed artist, graced the event as the chief guest, while Artist Shahanoor Mamun attended as a special guest. Dr. Zaman expressed delight in witnessing the growing presence of women in the fine arts realm. Following the warm addresses by the guests, the exhibition commenced.
