Fatal Stabbing in Chattogram: Man Killed in Maizpara

A fatal stabbing incident took place last night in the Maizpara area of Halishahar, Chattogram. The victim, identified as Md Akbar, aged 35 and a resident of the same locality, succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the police. The attack occurred at approximately 10:00 pm, according to the authorities.

After being critically wounded, Akbar was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), where the attending doctor pronounced him dead. Recounting the tragic event, Akbar’s sister, Saima Akter, informed The Daily Star that a local individual known for substance abuse unexpectedly assaulted her brother with a knife and then fled the scene.

Akbar, who leaves behind three children, was employed at a local depot, as stated by his sister. Officer-in-Charge Abu Hasnat Mohammad Majedul Haque of Halishahar Police Station disclosed, “We are currently present at the hospital. The deceased’s body has been transferred to the morgue, and we are actively probing the reasons behind the violent attack.”
