“Eternal Eleven” Art Show Showcases Rising Talents

The art show “Eternal Eleven” presents pieces by students from the MFA Batch-20 at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. Commencing on Friday, October 17, at 5:00 PM, the event drew a significant crowd comprising artists, educators, and art aficionados.

Highlighting the unique creations of eleven up-and-coming artists, “Eternal Eleven” features a variety of artistic expressions delving into personal perspectives, emotions, and aspirations. The exhibition serves as a testament to the evolving skills of these young artists and their collective dedication to visual storytelling.

Professor Mohammad Azam, Director General of Bangla Academy, graced the occasion as the chief guest, underscoring the crucial link between art and national heritage. Artist Professor Mostafizul Haque, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at SMUCT, attended as the Guest of Honour, emphasizing the significance of technical expertise and creative autonomy in contemporary art.

Special guests in attendance included Professor Dr. Azharul Islam Sheikh Chanchal, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, and Professor Dr. Prodip Kumar Nandi, Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts at SMUCT. They shed light on the pivotal role universities play in nurturing the growth and talents of young artists.

Presiding over the ceremony was Professor Dr. Md. Shah-E-Alam, Vice-Chancellor of SMUCT, who reiterated the university’s dedication to fostering creative education. In his welcoming address, Md. Amanullah, Head of the Fine Arts Department, extended gratitude to the participating students and guests for contributing to the success of the exhibition.

The event concluded with vibrant discussions among students, educators, and attendees regarding the future of art education in Bangladesh. Art enthusiasts are invited to visit the showcase at Zainul Gallery until October 22 to admire the diverse artworks crafted by these eleven promising artists.
