“Election Commissioner Hails Nation’s Participation”

-

A day after the national election and referendum, Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah expressed gratitude towards the people of the country. He stated that all doubts and negative intentions had been dispelled by the overwhelming participation in the voting process. Sanaullah made these remarks during the announcement of the election results at the Election Commission in Agargaon.

Highlighting the significance of the election, the former army officer emphasized that every aspect of national pride, reputation, investment, and employment was intertwined with the election process. He underlined that the Election Commission considered it a sacred responsibility entrusted by the citizens.

Sanaullah credited the success of the fair election to divine mercy and the enthusiastic participation of the people, likening it to the festive spirit of Eid. He described the morning of February 13 as a pivotal moment in Bangladesh’s history, marking a significant step forward in its democratic journey. Any errors that occurred were acknowledged as unintentional.

Looking ahead, Sanaullah expressed optimism that Bangladesh’s democracy would stay on its intended course and hoped for the country to set higher standards for future elections, ensuring a continued democratic progress.
