“Dua Lipa Denies Cutting Ties Over Political Allegations”

-

Dua Lipa refutes allegations of terminating her association with an agent who purportedly tried to prevent Irish rap group Kneecap from performing at Glastonbury. Reports suggested that Lipa cut ties with David Levy after he supported a letter requesting the removal of the band from the festival due to their stance on Palestine. Lipa and her agency WME clarified that these claims are inaccurate, highlighting that Levy had not represented the artist since 2019.

In response, Lipa criticized Levy for his actions against Kneecap and condemned the Mail for publishing what she called a deliberately divisive article aimed at sparking online controversy. Taking to Instagram, Dua Lipa expressed her disapproval of any attempt to silence artists and denounced the media coverage as not only false but also intentionally provocative to generate clicks and sow discord.

Emphasizing her unwavering support for Palestine, Lipa reiterated her stance while expressing concern over the exploitation of global tragedies for sensationalism by the media. WME also refuted the claims, stating that there was no truth to the assertions that Lipa dismissed an agent over political beliefs. While acknowledging Levy’s past involvement in her early career, they clarified that he transitioned to an advisory role before moving on to other endeavors earlier this year.

In light of the clarifications provided, the Mail revised its article and rectified an earlier error that misidentified Levy as Lipa’s manager. Since 2022, Dua Lipa’s management has been under the guidance of her father, Dukagjin Lipa.
