Dhanmondi Cricket Academy (DCA) marked its 25th anniversary with a lavish Silver Jubilee celebration held at the academy premises on Tuesday evening. The gathering brought together executive committee members, alumni, students, staff, and well-wishers to honor a quarter-century of dedication to cricket development.
Co-hosted by Momentum Arena, the event was characterized by reminiscence and camaraderie. It featured video tributes from past and present students, staff, and parents reflecting on the academy’s evolution, its enduring influence, and the sense of community that has blossomed around it.
In a touching gesture, DCA paid tribute to 10 deceased members by presenting commemorative crests to their families, acknowledging their enduring contributions to the academy’s heritage. The individuals honored included founding president Muhammad Zakaria, founding vice president Dr. Mohammad Abdullah, Faruqul Islam Faruq, Aliul Islam, Nadir Shah, Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury, Badruddoza Babla, Abu Sayed Khan, Sayeda Naila, Samiur Rahman Sami, and Sanjoy Pal Bappi.
Established a quarter-century ago, Dhanmondi Cricket Academy has played a pivotal role in nurturing cricketing talents within the Dhanmondi community.
“Our proudest achievement has been witnessing the success of our former student Saif Hasan in the national team,” expressed DCA President Abu Mohammad Sabur. “We are committed to continuing to develop players who will contribute to the nation’s cricketing endeavors.”
