“Dhaka University Launches Ethical Animal Welfare Campaign”

-

In an effort to protect public health and support the ethical treatment of campus animals, the Dhaka University Animal Welfare Team, in partnership with the Jagannath Hall Students’ Union, organized a comprehensive rabies vaccination and sterilization campaign for campus dogs and cats.

This initiative, which wrapped up today after sessions held on January 25 and 29, is aimed at offering a sustainable approach to managing the animal population while prioritizing the safety of the university community.

Mishkat Tanisha, a coordinator of the welfare team, stated, “We have launched this initiative to control the animal population using scientific methods and to create a setting where humans and nature can coexist peacefully.”

The organizers highlighted that all procedures were overseen by experienced, licensed veterinarians. The campaign strictly followed globally recognized medical, ethical, and safety protocols to ensure the welfare of the animals involved.
