Dengue Death Toll Rises with 4 New Fatalities

Four additional fatalities due to dengue were recorded within a 24-hour period until yesterday morning, bringing the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne illness to 292 this year. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that 1,101 new patients were admitted to hospitals for the viral fever during this time, increasing the total number of cases to 73,923 for the year. In comparison, dengue claimed 575 lives last year.
