Fans will see a familiar face back on Coronation Street in the near future, as we exclusively reveal the first details about Daisy Midgeley’s exit storyline.
The Mirror can confirm that a character is set to return to the ITV soap in early spring, and they soon ruffle feathers. Known for causing trouble during their last appearances on the show, the character in question does just that when they head back to the Cobbles in a few months time.
Daisy’s mother Christina is heading back to the show for new scenes that are set to tie in with actress Charlotte Jordan’s departure later this year. The Mirror can reveal that Christina actress Amy Robbins is reprising the role, and she’s soon to start filming again for her comeback.
In what’s been teased to be a “brilliant” storyline, Daisy’s faced with her mother once more with the pair having somewhat of a fractured relationship. But it comes at a time where Daisy no doubt needs her mum, following her pregnancy news.
In upcoming scenes her baby secret is exposed, with her yet to uncover whether Daniel Osbourne or Kit Green are the father. Amid a paternity twist, with the result soon revealed, Daisy’s mum reenters her life at a chaotic time for her.
It was confirmed Daisy actress Charlotte had quit the role in recent weeks, with her exit thought to be airing later this year. Amid theories about how she will leave the show with her at the centre of a love triangle, an insider told The Mirror a little more about what fans can expect from the plot and Daisy’s departure.
Christina will be back on screens for a few months, so perhaps this could be an indication of when Daisy might bid farewell. With Christina’s return airing in early spring and her on screen for a few months after this point, Daisy could be leaving around autumn time.
The insider told us: “Christina’s return certainly causes drama and she’s going to be ruffling some feathers throughout her time on the Cobbles. It’s a brilliant storyline for Christina and Daisy in what will be some of Charlotte’s final months on screen.
“It’ll be sad to say Daisy leave the show, but we’ve got a few months of Christina causing all kinds of chaos before then. The cast are thrilled to welcome Amy back to the show in what will no doubt be a big storyline for the pair.”
