The Ministry of Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, is set to host a classical music evening on the evening of October 8, 2025, starting at 7 pm within the historical premises of Lalbagh Fort located in Old Dhaka. This event is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to pay homage to iconic individuals who have made remarkable contributions to Bangladesh’s cultural and artistic legacy.
The upcoming program will commemorate the 163rd birth anniversary of Ustad Allauddin Khan, a renowned figure in classical music known as the ‘music emperor’ for his profound impact on South Asian classical traditions. Ustad Shiraz Ali Khan, the great-grandson of Ustad Allauddin Khan, will headline the event, showcasing his musical prowess on stage alongside Sri Aarchik Banerjee on tabla. The performance will also feature a lineup of talented emerging artists who will present a series of classical compositions as a tribute to the musical maestro whose influence transcends generations.
