“Chartered Accountant Turned Filmmaker Releases Debut Web Film”

-

Anonno Proteek Chowdhuri reflects on dedicating his life to football and studying to become a chartered accountant. Despite working in the field, he felt a sense of confinement. Inspired by his filmmaker parents, Chayanika Chowdhury and Arun Chowdhury, he decided to pursue his dream of making a film once he achieved stability.

Anonno’s debut web film, “Noya Note,” released on September 12, is a product of his determination. The film, written and directed by Anonno, delves into the story of a homeless man seeking money, portrayed authentically by lead actor Nasir Uddin Khan on real streets without prior announcement.

Reflecting on the unconventional approach, Anonno shares how strangers mistook Nasir for a genuine beggar, validating the realism of the scene. Working with limited resources, Anonno’s vision was to capture raw authenticity without an extensive cast of extras.

Having started as an assistant director on “Mayaboti” in 2019, Anonno gained insights into the multifaceted role of a director. He emphasizes the importance of handling various responsibilities to support the core team effectively.

Anonno’s commitment to the well-being of his crew was evident on the set of “Jole Jwole Tara,” where he ensured the comfort of cast and crew members, highlighting his humanitarian approach to filmmaking.

Acknowledging the unpredictable nature of filmmaking, Anonno stresses the need for adaptability when faced with unforeseen challenges, emphasizing the importance of quick thinking to turn adverse situations in one’s favor.

When discussing his audience, Anonno emphasizes creating content that transcends geographical boundaries, focusing on producing quality work that resonates universally rather than catering solely to local or global viewers.

Anonno sees digital platforms as an opportunity to bridge the gap between local and global audiences, leveraging streaming services to showcase stories that blend the formats of TV series and feature films.

Expressing concerns about the industry’s disparities, Anonno advocates for a level playing field for all filmmakers, emphasizing the need for equal opportunities regardless of experience or budget constraints.

Looking ahead, Anonno aims to navigate the festival circuit with future projects, highlighting his commitment to investors and the importance of delivering value in return for their support.

While recognizing the challenges of scale, Anonno remains optimistic about realizing his creative vision on a larger platform, aspiring to tell stories that resonate on a grander scale.
