Canadian author Carley Fortune has revealed that her upcoming novel, “Our Perfect Storm,” will hit bookshelves on May 5, 2026. The story revolves around long-time friends Frankie and George. After Frankie’s wedding day disaster, George persuades her to bring him along on her honeymoon to Vancouver Island.
Despite their close bond since childhood, Frankie and George often clash due to their fiery personalities. Their trip to Tofino serves as an opportunity to mend their relationship and prevent Frankie from dwelling on her recent breakup. As they spend more time together, they begin to sense a deeper connection that may have been simmering beneath the surface.
Explaining the choice of Tofino as the backdrop for the novel, Carley Fortune emphasized her desire to transport readers to captivating Canadian landscapes. She described Tofino’s enchanting mist-covered beaches and verdant rainforests as sources of inspiration for creating an immersive reading experience in “Our Perfect Storm.”
The cover of “Our Perfect Storm” was unveiled on the morning show “Good Morning America” on August 27. This novel will mark Fortune’s first hardcover publication, distinguishing it from her previous bestsellers.
Fortune, a writer and journalist based in Toronto, has an impressive editorial background with notable publications like Refinery29, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, and Toronto Life.
