-

Police discovered the body of a businessman inside a microbus in Adamdighi, Bogura, in the early hours of yesterday, following his abduction at gunpoint from Dupchanchia upazila in the district on Monday night. The deceased, identified as Pintu Akanda, aged 35 and the owner of a Lotto showroom in Dupchanchia, hailed from Lohagacha village in Raninagar upazila, Naogaon.

Md Asif Hossain, assistant superintendent of police, Bogura Adamdighi Circle, stated that initial investigations suggest Pintu may have been strangled after the abduction. A thorough inquiry is ongoing, and the exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits, with the microbus driver and another individual already taken into custody for questioning.

The victim’s family lodged a murder complaint with Dupchanchia Police Station against unidentified suspects. According to authorities, a CCTV footage shared on social media captured a white microbus pulling up at the Lotto showroom at approximately 9:08 pm on Monday. Four masked individuals emerged from the vehicle, with one brandishing a firearm and forcibly removing Pintu from the premises. Subsequently, they bundled him into the microbus and sped away towards Adamdighi via the Bogura-Naogaon regional highway.
