Netflix has given viewers a sneak peek into what awaits in “Bridgerton” Season 4, hinting at a fresh romantic tale between Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha’s Sophie Baek. The popular period drama will make its comeback in a two-part series, with Part I premiering on January 29, 2026, followed by Part II on February 26, 2026.
The preview begins with Benedict encountering Sophie at an extravagant masquerade ball. Their dance ignites a spark between them, but Sophie mysteriously disappears into the night, leaving behind a lone silk glove. This scene sets the stage for a reimagined Cinderella-esque narrative within the lavish world of “Bridgerton.”
Netflix tantalizingly teased, “Do we rise to the occasion or bury ourselves deeper amidst society’s secrets? We shall find out soon enough…” confirming the release dates for both segments.
Drawing inspiration from Julia Quinn’s novel “An Offer from a Gentleman” published in 2001, the upcoming season revolves around Benedict’s affair with Sophie, the daughter of an earl thrust into servitude by her harsh stepmother. In the Netflix version, Sophie’s last name has been altered to Baek, paying homage to Ha’s Korean roots.
As per Netflix’s Tudum, Sophie is portrayed as “a victim of tragic events, compelled to toil for a demanding employer in the ton — until a momentous evening at Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball alters her destiny forever.”
The new season will also witness the comeback of familiar characters, such as Nicola Coughlan as Penelope, Luke Newton as Colin, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, and Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton.
Continuing its tradition of weaving love stories throughout the expansive Bridgerton clan, the anthology will delve into Benedict’s journey in Season 4. Previous seasons showcased Daphne and Simon’s intense courtship in Season 1, Anthony and Kate Sharma’s slow-burn love story in Season 2, and Penelope and Colin’s anticipated transition from friends to lovers in Season 3.
For Benedict, known for his artistic pursuits and passionate encounters in past seasons — including a steamy liaison with Lady Tilley Arnold and her acquaintance Paul Suarez — Season 4 promises a narrative shift towards a heartfelt evolution.
