BRAC Bank has named ASM Wasi Noman as the new Additional Managing Director (AMD) and Chief Information Officer (CIO). Noman, who brings over 25 years of leadership experience in various sectors including banking, telecommunications, IT services, automation, and business process outsourcing, will spearhead the bank’s technology strategy and digital innovation initiatives.
In his role as the first CIO of the bank, Noman will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer experience, and developing cutting-edge banking capabilities. As a key member of the management committee, he will be responsible for overseeing both the technology and digital banking departments, ensuring that digital projects are in line with the bank’s long-term strategic goals.
Before joining BRAC Bank, Noman held the position of Deputy Managing Director and CIO at MetLife Bangladesh. His extensive career includes executive roles such as CIO, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Deputy Managing Director at various local and global organizations, including Accenture, Grameenphone, GPIT, Standard Bank Limited, Kernel Systems, and BEXIMCO Computers.
Notably, Noman had previously served as the CTO of BRAC Bank from 2019 to 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, and an Executive MBA for technical professionals from the Falconbury Institute in London, UK.
