“Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Hosts ‘Sharadiya Cultural Fest 2025′”

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is set to host the inaugural “Sharadiya Cultural Festival 2025” starting today, September 30, and running until Wednesday, October 1. The event, organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and overseen by Shilpakala Academy, will see the presence of Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and other advisors. Notable attendees will include Cultural Secretary Md Mofidur Rahman, Director General of Shilpakala Academy Rezauddin Ahmed Stalin, and senior officials from various ministries, departments, and organizations. Special guests, including ambassadors from several countries, have been extended invitations.

The festival will kick off at 6:30 pm at the open stage of Suhrawardy Udyan with a jatra performance of “Mahishasura Mardini, Devi Durga” by Palakar Ujjal Kumar Byapari and the Mata Majjulika religious theatre troupe. The closing day’s activities on October 1 will take place at Shilpakala Academy’s Nandan Mancha, commencing with a traditional Manglik Nritya performance accompanied by drum and dhol beats.

Key figures such as Tapan Chandra Majumdar, Bijon Kanti Sarkar, Ramesh Dutta, and Tarun Dey will deliver welcome speeches. The program will feature group performances encompassing Shyama Sangeet, devotional, patriotic, and contemporary songs. Renowned artists Anima Roy, Debolina Sur Dola, Ritu Raj, and Shithi Saha will showcase solo performances. The festival is open to all attendees.
