The Bangladesh ICT Stakeholders Alliance (BISA) recently organized an “Iftar and Networking Event,” bringing together diverse organizations, entrepreneurs, technologists, and policymakers from the ICT sector in a warm and collaborative environment.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Honorable Fakir Mahabub Anam, Minister of Post, Telecommunications, Science and Technology. Special Guests included Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, Minister for Liberation War Affairs, and Rehan Asif Asad, Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The program was presided over by Dr. Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, President of BISA.
Under the moderation of BISA Advisor Shamim Azad, distinguished speakers at the event included Major General A. S. M. Ridwanur Rahman, Director General of the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS); political analyst Dr. Maruf Malik; BNP National Executive Committee members Faisal Alim and HM Saif Ali Khan, Joint Secretary for Information and Technology; BISA Chief Advisor Engineer Md. Juwel; founding member Md. Samiul Islam; Bakkor Director Shaima Shawkat Ali; Advisor Raj Masud Farhad; and Rafael Kabir, President of NICTAF, along with leaders from various ICT organizations.
The speakers highlighted the rapid expansion of Bangladesh’s ICT sector and emphasized the critical need for coordination and collaboration among organizations, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to ensure sustainable growth. They noted BISA’s significant role in uniting stakeholders and advancing the country’s digital economy through this platform.
The discussions underscored the importance of fostering technology-driven entrepreneurship, innovation, startup development, and increased investment in the ICT sector. The event concluded with an Iftar and networking session, allowing participants to exchange ideas and explore strategies for the future development of Bangladesh’s ICT industry.
