Bangladesh wrapped up the group stage of the Hong Kong International Sixes with a triumph over Sri Lanka by 14 runs at Mong Kok on Friday. Earlier in the day, their game against hosts Hong Kong was canceled due to rain. Akbar Ali’s rapid 32 runs off nine deliveries propelled Bangladesh to a total of 75 within six overs against Sri Lanka. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat shined with the ball, taking three wickets for 20 runs, earning the Player of the Match accolade. Sri Lanka managed only 61 runs in response. Bangladesh is set to clash with Australia in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
