“Aurthohin Unveils Intense ‘Phoenixer Diary 2′”

-

Celebrated Bangladeshi rock group Aurthohin made a significant announcement today at Skyfall Rooftop Restaurant in Mohakhali, Dhaka, revealing details about their upcoming album “Phoenixer Diary 2”. Despite a slight delay due to weather conditions, fans eagerly awaited the unveiling by Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon (Bassbaba Sumon), Mark Don, and Ehtesham Ali Moeen, who promised a more intense and darker musical journey for the band.

The band disclosed that “Phoenixer Diary 2” is set for release on October 17, 2025, on various major streaming platforms such as YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Qobuz. Additionally, Aurthohin’s dedicated fan community, known as “Oddbhut”, can look forward to a special “Listening Party” scheduled for October 10.

Featuring eight tracks, the album serves as a continuation of the narrative initiated in their first installment, “Phoenixer Diary 1”, which played a pivotal role in establishing the Bangla Nu Rock genre acknowledged by Spotify. While the initial album explored themes of resilience and renewal, the sequel portrays a shift in the Phoenix’s symbolism from hope to vengeance and destruction after enduring significant loss.

Aurthohin described their latest album as more intense and musically intricate than its predecessor, showcasing collaborations with renowned artists like Grammy-nominated guitarist Frank Gambale, saxophonist Bob Franceschini, bassist Bubby Lewis, and Ahnaf, the son of frontman Bassbaba Sumon.

The band dedicated “Phoenixer Diary 2” to the late sound engineer and artist A.K. Ratul, a key figure in Bangladesh’s rock music scene. Frontman Bassbaba Sumon shared that the album’s creation was driven by a deep sense of emotion and urgency to honor Ratul’s legacy, with the entire project completed in just eight days. Sumon hinted at a possible tribute track for Ratul in the future, expressing the profound impact Ratul had on their lives and music.

Through its global collaborations and ambitious production, “Phoenixer Diary 2” signifies a significant advancement in Bangladeshi rock music, solidifying Aurthohin’s position as a leading force in the country’s rock scene. The band also expressed gratitude to sponsors like Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh and support from Shell, Framework Finance Limited, Get Set Rock, and Verse Imagine.
